This play begins, as much of life does, with God trapping people on a stage, with the help of his side-kick, Shirley. Three actors, to be exact. At first, they try to escape. But Shirley doesn’t give in. She focuses instead on puzzling and taking care of her geranium. Bill, Brian, and Bob must learn to tame their tempers, mend their loneliness, and confront their fears, as God plays a bit of a trick on them. Yes, he (she?) is bored too, sometimes. And has a temper, and is lonely, and has fears. The result, well, the 3 B’s rediscover new parts of themselves, in the form of the female body. Maybe as women they’ll have more of a chance to get out. Or maybe not.
