Have you ever wanted to write a play but just weren’t sure where to start? Did you write something already but looked at it a week later and threw it straight in the bin? Or perhaps you’re a seasoned writer simply looking to hone your skills and try a fresh approach?
Whatever level of experience you have, we may have just the course for you! Meticulously crafted, compiled and taught by our literary associate Seb, the 8-week course will discuss and deconstruct a different element of the playwriting process each week, while writers begin work on their own brand-new play in response to a specific theme (which will remain unknown until the first session… exciting eh?)
Expect engaging exercises, dynamic discussions and perhaps even a special guest or two!
With an emphasis on creating a friendly and collaborative learning environment whilst also remaining packed full of invaluable insights and clear, comprehensive explanation, this course aims to help you shape your ideas as a playwright, introduce new tools and frameworks to play with, and finally break free of those writing habits that could be holding you back from your full potential.
By the end of the 8 weeks, writers will have created at least 10-15 minutes of an exciting new script that will then be cast, rehearsed and performed at a special writers’ showcase night at the Bread & Roses theatre!
The course will run on Thursdays at 6:30-9pm over Zoom (dates listed below.)
Spaces are limited and first come, first served so don’t miss out!
